Jumping for joy

03-11-2009
Manurewa High School student, Kimberley Robins, is one of the best bouncers in the country.  At the 2008 national trampoline championships, Kimberly won both the trampoline and synchronised trampoline sections, and was awarded the national title for 2008/09.  This year Kimberley has been plagued by serious ankle injuries and shin splints, but still managed to qualify for the trampoline 2009/2010 nationals at Mystery Creek.

Kimberley’s determination saw her placed seventh overall, despite having to ice her legs between preliminaries and finals.

Last year Kim also won the Gisborne open, the Auckland Champs and the North Island title. She also trialled, qualified and was selected to compete in Brisbane in July where she placed 20th out of about 60 competitors - some of whom had competed at the world championships.

Kimberley is resting her injuries at the moment but is hoping to once again be serious contender for next year’s title.
