Programme For International Students

Manurewa High School provides a well structured, highly regarded, orientation and language support programme for ESOL students from non-English-speaking backgrounds. We have reception classes for students who require an intensive ESOL course. Students are mainstreamed when they are ready and we tailor programmes to suit their individual needs

Student Welfare

The Deputy Principal in charge of International Students, and the Dean of International students oversee all pastoral care matters. The Homestay Manager arranges homestays, and students have the opportunity to be part of a carefully selected New Zealand family. The school also has an extended Guidance Counselling network.

A wide range of sports are played, and overseas students often participate in table tennis, badminton, tennis and golf. A number of internationally recognised sports people have attended the school since it was opened in 1960. Students may learn a variety of musical instruments.
