Yi Chun No.1 High School

Yi Chun No 1 High School opened in 1955, merged with Yi Chun High School in 2005 and in 2012 was re-established as Yi Chun No 1 High School.

The school has more than 3500 students, 61 teaching classes with a total of 251 teachers of whom 127 are senior teachers. The school is expanding, and optimising efforts to improve the school campus environment and educational facilities.  The president of the school is Mr Shaowu Wu.

As part of its aim to achieve a culture of excellence for their students, Yi Chun No 1 High School has established an international programme at their school in partnership with Manurewa High School.  The partnership agreement was signed by Mr Wu and Mr Salvatore Garguilo, Principal of Manurewa High School.

Mrs Sandra Shaw (Teacher in Charge of International Students) and Mrs Xia Li (Teacher of English as a Second Language), also visited and spoke to the students about Manurewa High School.

There was also the opportunity to meet with the president and the deputy president of Yi Chun No 1 High School as well as the teachers of the international class and the parents of a student from Yi Chun No 1 High School who is currently studying at Manurewa High School..
                                       
Manurewa High School looks forward to building on its successful partnership with Yi Chun No 1 High School.

I am Chen Longziyi but I am Ricardo in NZ. I came to Auckland, New Zealand in January and enrolled in the Manurewa High School. During this time, I have learned a lot of things. I usually reach school at 8:55am. Then we stay in form class for about 20min, in addition to a meeting on Tuesday when we go to the hall. My favorite subject is Maths Calculus because it is easy and interesting. I usually have lunch at lunch time in school. Our school is usually finished at 3:15 pm and on Friday we will finish at 2:30pm. After school sometimes I have activities with my friends. I like my school life very much. It is very interesting.
