Our 1st XV rugby team has set out this season to contribute to leadership for the school, on and off the field.

Coach Bruno Watkins says team members came up with their own goals for the season. These are:

  • Earn the respect of others (peers, school, and community) by living our school values
  • Win the Rainbows End Cup 2017
  • To qualify for Co-Ed Nationals 2017

The team created its own 1st XV rugby version of the REWA values identified as being important to achieving their goals for the season. As part of Whanaungatanga value, the team has decided to help out in the community throughout the year where possible.

The first project is to help out each day at Breakfast Club, supporting the staff as needed, and being available to students who come to the club for food and friendship.

For the team’s first game against Hamilton Boys, we hosted alumni and businesses at an event with the Manurewa High School Business Academy.

The team welcomes the support of sponsor Rapid Rentals (the McCall family), and Ward Demolition (Nicky and Tony Johnson).

We would love to see our team continue to be well supported, especially at home games. Click here for the season's schedule: http://bit.ly/2r5MeOp
