Field trip to the volcanic plateau

On Tuesday, 21 March, two of our Yearr 12 Geography classes went to Tongariro National Park for four days, to carry out a research assessment.

We got the privilege to experience the 19.4km walk called the Tongariro Crossing. Although we did not accomplish the full extent of the walk due to poor weather, we did about six hours walk of a distance covering over 12km, where we captured the beautiful landscape of the area.

We also got to learn so much on our journey exploring and comparing the differences between the east and west side of the volcanic environment.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and we will always have the memories that we shared together.
