Important Notice - ASB Polyfest 2021

Teenaa kooutou e te Whaanau

At Manurewa High School we believe it is important to celebrate the multi-cultural diversity that is represented in our aakonga and their whaanau. As such, we encourage all aakonga to partake annually in the ASB Polyfest. This year we have over 400 students performing across 15 groups.

As a way to support some of our groups performing as well as provide quality education outside the classroom we would like to encourage all aakonga to attend the festival on Friday 16th April at the Manukau Sports Bowl. Whilst attending we encourage all aakonga to show support for Manurewa High School by wearing full, correct school uniform.

As a reminder those students who are in the Trades Programme and are usually offsite on a Friday are expected to continue to attend their programme as usual.

We will have a large contingent of Manurewa High School staff at the festival on Friday 16th April however please be aware that given the size and scale of the festival we will not be able to consistently supervise our aakonga for the entire day.

There are various costs to attend Polyfest. Tickets will need to be purchased by individual whaanau from the official website ASB Polyfest 2021 (iticket.co.nz). There is a flexipass available for $6 or a day pass for $5. Tickets can be purchased at the gate for $7.50 – EFTPOS only (no cash at the gate). Also, please be aware aakonga will need to make their own way to and from the festival.

If you would still like your child to attend school on Friday 16th April, we will be open for instruction so please email [email protected] with name and ID number to confirm this is your preference. Students will be completing their online learning programme for this day.

We hope that you will support this opportunity for our aakonga to engage in a positive and culturally rich learning experience, right on our doorstep.
